The Vision Behind Pashnia

A Partnership Rooted in Heritage and Design

The story of Pashnia is one of shared passion, enduring friendship, and a deep reverence for textile artistry. Founded in 2008 by a dynamic duo of Peruvian designers, the brand was born from a singular mission: to bridge the gap between ancient South American craftsmanship and contemporary, minimalist luxury.

Working side by side for nearly two decades, they combined their creative visions to introduce the unparalleled refinement of authentic Peruvian Baby Alpaca and hand-harvested Pima Cotton to a discerning global audience. Together, they established a beloved presence on the East Coast and Midwest, transforming their retail storefronts inside the historic Fitger's Mall in Minnesota, Soho Grand Hotel in New York NY and the historic Grove Arcade Mall in the vibrant creative community of Asheville, North Carolina, into spaces celebrated for warmth, timeless style, and heirloom-quality garments.

Today, this partnership operates seamlessly across borders. While one co-founder leads the design headquarters directly from their studio in Peru—immersed firsthand at the source of inspiration and collaborating with multi-generational artisans—the other co-founder directs wholesale operations and boutique relations directly from their corporate office in New York City.

"To us, designing with alpaca and Pima cotton is about preservation," Gene Castro Castellares and Mauricio Alberti share; We create limited-edition, slow-fashion capsule pieces that hold the soul of the Andes and a permanent place in a modern wardrobe."
